What this page covers

This page describes what happens to personal information sent to Roi Hair and Beauty through this website. It does not cover what happens when you ring the salon, walk in, or message us on Instagram or Facebook, which are ordinary conversations and are not governed by anything on this page.

What we collect

Through the enquiry form, only what you type into it: your name, your phone number, your email address if you choose to give one, which service you are asking about, and anything you write in the message box.

The website also uses Google Analytics to count visits, which is described under "Analytics and cookies" below. It does not use advertising or tracking pixels. If any of that changes, this page changes with it before the change goes live.

Why we collect it

To answer your enquiry. That is the whole purpose. Because the salon takes bookings by telephone rather than through an online system, an answer to an enquiry is usually a phone call, which is why the phone number is the field we ask you to fill in.

Who sees it

The salon. Enquiries go to an inbox the owner and the people who run the salon can read. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for marketing, and we do not add you to a mailing list because you asked a question.

Sending a form over the internet necessarily involves the services that carry and store the message, in the same way that posting a letter involves the post. Those providers are not permitted to use what you send for their own purposes.

There are two of them. The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which runs the small program that receives the form and also provides the anti-spam check it passes through, and the resulting email is delivered by Mailgun. Between them that is the whole journey from the Send button to the salon's inbox.

The map on this site

The visit page embeds a Google map. Google receives a request from your browser when that map loads, which is how an embedded map works anywhere on the internet. What Google does with that is governed by Google's own privacy policy rather than by this one. The rest of the site works perfectly well without ever loading it.

Analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics to understand how it is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, what kind of device and browser they use, and whether they tap a button to call the salon. It does not tell us who you are, and it is never combined with anything you send through the enquiry form.

To do this, Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser, named _ga and _ga_ followed by a code, which can last up to two years. They let it tell a returning visitor from a new one. Google processes this information under its own privacy policy, and Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses.

You can stop it at any time by blocking cookies in your browser, by using a content blocker, or with Google's own opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. The site works exactly the same either way.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while they are useful to the salon and are deleted when they are not. If you would rather yours was deleted sooner, ask, and it will be.

Asking us about your information

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call the salon on 0499 927 027 and say so. There is no form to fill in and no process to go through.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it, the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner takes complaints about privacy at oaic.gov.au.

Children

This website is not aimed at children and the salon does not knowingly collect information from them through it. A parent booking for a child by phone is an ordinary conversation and not something this page governs.

Changes to this page

If what the website does changes, this page is updated to describe it, and the date at the top changes. There is no version history; the page describes what is true now.
