Roi Hair opened on the ground floor of Melbourne Central in 1991 and has never moved.
The shopping centre had only just opened its doors, which is how the salon came to hold the title it is proudest of: the longest-standing original tenant in Melbourne Central. Over three decades on the same floor, behind the same door, our history has become woven into the fabric of the Melbourne CBD.
Roi is still owned by Sam Liassos. The salon has watched decades of city evolution from the ground floor and has stayed exactly what it set out to be: consistent quality, warmth, and exceptional hairdressing, year after year, under the same expert direction.
Generations of loyalty
Our greatest achievement is not the longevity. It is the people. For over three decades, generations of Melburnians have trusted us with their hair, and a great many of them have been walking through the same doors for years on end, growing alongside the salon and becoming part of the extended Roi Hair family.
They come from the offices around us, from RMIT, up from the station underneath, and from suburbs right across Melbourne. 124 public reviews say it in their own words, and the oldest of them go back years rather than months. Hair cut and coloured by somebody who already knows it is most of the reason why.

Master craftsmanship
Led by Sam Liassos, the team specialises in precision cutting, stunning colour work, and complex colour corrections. Whether you are after a complete transformation or a subtle refresh, the technical expertise behind it is the same, and so is the finish you walk out with.
Work of that kind takes the time it takes. A colour correction can need more than one sitting, an upstyle needs a chair held for it, and anybody who wants a particular pair of hands is best to ring ahead. For everything else you are welcome to come up the escalators and ask, exactly as people have been doing here since 1991.
