For Docklands
A hairdresser at theother end of Latrobe.
Roi is not in Docklands. It is on the ground floor of Melbourne Central, which is a tram ride and no parking problem away.
Mon to Sat, from 10am
Getting here from Docklands
Straight down Latrobe on the 35 or 70.
-
On the tram
The 35, which is the free City Circle, and the 70 both run along Latrobe Street. Get off at the Melbourne Central end and the centre is in front of you.
-
On the train
From Southern Cross it is one stop on the Northern loop to Melbourne Central, and the salon is on the ground floor directly above the concourse you walk out onto.
-
Once you are here
Ground floor, Lonsdale Street side, number 300. Up the escalators from the station and stay on the level you arrive at. The lit wordmark is above a timber-framed door.
Who comes up from Docklands
Office workers, and the constraint is almost always the same one: a fixed hour in the middle of the day, and a hard stop at the end of it. A cut and blow-dry usually fits inside that. Colour usually does not, which is worth knowing before you walk down rather than after you have sat in the chair.
The second pattern is the end of the day rather than the middle of it. The salon is open until eight on Thursdays, which for anybody leaving an office at five thirty is the one evening a week when a proper appointment is possible without taking time off to get it.
The salon
Roi opened on the ground floor of Melbourne Central in 1991 and has not moved since. Same floor, same door, same owner, while the rest of the building changed hands around it.
Walk-ins are most of the business rather than something squeezed in around bookings, which is the practical reason it suits anybody coming in from Docklands with an hour rather than a morning.

Questions
Coming in from
Docklands.
Anything not covered here, call 0499 927 027 and ask before you travel.
How do I get to Roi Hair from Docklands?
The 35 or the 70 tram along Latrobe Street, or one stop on the train from Southern Cross to Melbourne Central. The salon is on the ground floor of the centre, directly above the station concourse, on the Lonsdale Street side.
Can I get a haircut in my lunch hour?
A cut and blow-dry usually fits. Colour usually does not. Ring the salon before you leave the office and ask what is in the chairs, because the honest answer depends on the day rather than on the service.
Are you open after work?
Until six most days, and until eight on Thursdays, which is the evening worth knowing about if you cannot get away during the day. The salon is closed on Sundays.
